Hello and welcome, to the Kaleidoscope

out to the
new subscribers who have recently become
part of the
Kaleidoscope Theatre online family.
In our newsletter, we will inform you of
many things, including:
upcoming Kaleidoscope Theatre performances;
special offers
involving discounted tickets or merchandise;
how to bring
Kaleidoscope Theatre’s award-winning
school-touring shows
to your school; updates on Kaleidoscope
Theatre company
members; and much, much more!
In this issue you can read about:
1. Our affiliation with the Homestead Group!
2. The return of our wayward Artistic
Director, Tommy Iafrate
3. Our trip to Singapore
4. Supporting our members – Other venues to
feature our
performers
1. HOMESTEAD
We are excited to announce that as of
January 1, 2007,
Kaleidoscope Theatre will officially be
affiliated with the
Homestead Group (formerly known as the ARC
of Northern
RI).This affiliation promises to bring new
and exciting
opportunities to our theatre company and to
our fans! More
details on this terrific development will
follow in our
first 2007 edition!
For more information on the Homestead Group,
please visit
their website at http://www.arcofnri.org/
2. ARTISTIC DIRECTOR – TOMMY IAFRATE
After spending this past season at the
Goodspeed Opera House
in East Haddam, CT. Tommy Iafrate will be
returning to
Kaleidoscope Theatre full time as the
Artistic Director starting
in January. Even during his absence, Tommy
has remained
active with Kaleidoscope Theatre; most
recently, he appeared
as Papa Bear in our performance of
“Goldilocks and the Three
Bears” on December 9th, and over the summer
he played the
Big Bad Wolf in “Little Red Riding Hood” and
Papa Bear in
“Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. This past
weekend, he
performed as the Minister at our Chevrolet
Theatre
performances of “Cinderella’s Christmas”.
Welcome Back Tommy!
3. OUR TRIP TO SINGAPORE
We are sorry to report that our trip to
Singapore has been
postponed because of dangerous conditions
overseas.
The air pollution caused by brush fires in
neighboring Indonesia
negatively affected ticket sales and tourism
in Singapore.
We are hopeful that the tour of “Hansel &
Gretel” will be
rescheduled for Spring 2007. We will keep
you all posted!
4. SUPPORT OUR MEMBERS
When not working with Kaleidoscope Theatre,
our members
bring their varied talents to other venues.
Here’s a sampling
of productions that will feature our members
in the upcoming
months….
A. “A Christmas Carol” (at the Black Box
Theatre at
50 Rolfe Square in Cranston, RI) will
feature
our own Bobby Macaux. This show will run
December 7, 8, 9
and 11, 14, 16 and tickets are $20.00. This
summer for
Kaleidoscope, Bobby played Dominic in
“Sleeping Beauty”
and William the Great in “Jack and the
Beanstalk.” Bobby
also plays the part of David Brown in our
production of
“I’m Special, You’re Special” – a celebrated
school touring
production that deals with the inclusion of
a young boy with
Down Syndrome into his siblings’ school. For
more
information about our school touring
programs, please look
at our School Touring Brochure on our
