2. JACK & THE BEANSTALK
Besides the performance in Saugus on April 25th,
we will be performing “Jack & the Beanstalk” in
Rhode Island on April 10th. Wood River
Pre-School is sponsoring this performance that
will take place on Saturday,
April 10th at 10am at Chariho Middle School.
Tickets are $5/person at the door starting at
9am and people of all ages are encouraged to
attend.
Wood River Preschool is a non-profit, parent
cooperative preschool and this April 10th
performance will help raise funds to bring
increased educational opportunities to students
and will also give the community the opportunity
to enjoy professional theatre. Hope to see you
there!
3. JUSTICE
AWARD
Kaleidoscope Theatre’s “BULLY” program was
recently awarded a Special Justice award from
Rhode Island’s Attorney General, Patrick Lynch!
The award letter we received stated -
“Kaleidoscope Children’s Theatre has been
selected as a 2009 recipient of the Justice
Award, symbolizing not only it’s tradition of
artistic excellence but also the Theatre’s
commitment to educating our children about crime
and harmful behavior such as in its excellent
production of “BULLY.”
Congratulations and thank you to all who made
this award possible by sharing their dedication,
hard work, and talents. We would especially
like to thank those responsible for our most
recent touring production, “High School BULLY”,
which was so positively reviewed by members of
the RI Attorney General’s office. Our Executive
Director, David Payton, has written a thank you
letter to everyone involved in the
program; to view the letter, check out our
website

4. “ALICE
THROUGH THE KALEIDOSCOPE”
To help raise money to bring our anti-bullying
program to schools that could otherwise not
afford it, Kaleidoscope is planning an exciting
fundraiser for this spring! The event will be
open to the public, so save the date and spread
the word!
Come join Alice on an original adventure through
fairytale land and help ensure that all your
favorite Kaleidoscope characters get the happy
ending they deserve!
This event will be held Friday, May 28th at the
Scottish Rites Auditorium in Cranston, RI and
will feature a family-friendly collection of
Kaleidoscope Theatre songs and characters, along
with an original storyline. Tickets will be $15
for adults, $10 for children under 12, and all
proceeds will benefit Kaleidoscope
Theatre programs.

5. SKILLS ON STAGE
With the recent increase in demand, Kaleidoscope
is going to start offering theatre classes for
children! The first session will be an
eight-week class for children in grades 3-5
(ages 8-10).
In this class, children will begin to learn
about the skills necessary to become an actor.
The class will focus on the skills of
Observation, Imagination, Concentration, and
Cooperation and the students will practice them
using a variety of theatre games and exercises.
All students in the class will also participate
in Kaleidoscope Theatre’s production of “Alice
through the Kaleidoscope” on May 28th at the
Scottish Rites Auditorium in Cranston. This show
is being produced as a fundraiser for our
“BULLY” program and will offer the students
a chance to work alongside professional actors.
The class will be taught by Jamie Dellorco, who
currently serves as Kaleidoscope Theatre’s
Education Coordinator as well as an actor for
the company.
Classes will begin Friday, April 9th from 6:30pm
– 8:30pm and will run every Friday at the same
time through the performance on May 28th. This
class is being offered for a fee of $200, and
students will be asked to help sell tickets for
their final performance at the fundraiser. All
classes will be held in the function room of the
Orchard Church located at 180 Oaklawn Ave. in
Cranston.
Call (401) 942-3637 to reserve your slot!
6. “RAPUNZEL”
Tickets are still on sale for our annual spring
production at Scottish Rites Auditorium in
Cranston, RI. This year, we will be presenting
“Rapunzel” on May 13th. Our enchanting
adaptation closely follows the classic and
timeless tale we all know and love. Lovely and
lively songs create a mood of enchantment and
romance as Rapunzel meets her true love and is
rescued from her tower with help from the
audience. It is a delightful experience the
entire family will enjoy and remember!
The performance will begin at 10am and run for
an hour. Tickets are only $5.50 and can be
reserved by calling Kaleidoscope at (401)
942-3637. This event is perfect for class
fieldtrips, but individual families are welcome
to attend as well!
