April 2011 performance of "BULLY" in Florida schools
"Change nothing! Perfect
play and performers. A great message to the performance and the
group was amazing! Bullying was a good topic. Very important to
these kids. They LOVED it! Thank you. The kids and teachers
really enjoyed the show. The performers had great voices. We
were so impressed by the show. The director was amazing. Loved
it!"
"It really explained why bullying was hurtful in an entertaining
way. Great! They Loved It! Incredible Show! Loved it!"
"The examples of bullying very realistic to what the students
feel and experience. Gave great examples of how to deal with
bullying and bystanders. My students were able to reflect on
questions in class. They loved the play, expecially seeing the
bully change his ways. The Wizard of Oz was a great reflection
of the characters!"
"The preliminary information sheets provided a framework for
discussion and lesson planning on the topic. It engaged students
and activated background knowledge with real examples that were
meaningful to the students. The students could relate to what
was happening and the 'in the round' made it up close and
personal. It was great!"
"Students were engrossed the whole time. We had an incident of
name calling right after the play. We were able to handle it
quickly!"
"Because of the premilinary information the students understood
what the topic was going to be and were ready for more
information. The toothpaste was a great visual for the students
so they could actually SEE how once words are said, they can't
be taken back. Lessons were taught in a very entertaining way.
My students watched carefully and were fascinated by the
performance. They LOVED it and it really made them understand
bullying. I thought it was great!"
"Preliminary Information was great to build discussion. Loved
the toothpaste activity! Visuals are key! The performance was
educational and entertaining. GREAT! Really enjoyed it :-)
Thank you! "
The one constructive criticism was: "Lower the music to hear the
actors/actresses."
There is underscoring which at times was loud due to being the
first time it was performed in Florida and also it is performed
in the round and those closest to the music sometimes have
trouble hearing the performers.
All in all it was a tremendous experience which we hope will
continue at Dillard HS. Thanks to everyone who was involved you
all did a super job!
